about the studio
README.mdI'm Noam — a solo developer building NF Software as an independent studio. I started in 2023 with a simple goal: build the tools I actually want to use. Fast, minimal, privacy-first, no tracking.
Everything I publish is open source under Apache 2.0 — use it, fork it, contribute. Two exceptions: Iris stays premium because local AI infrastructure takes real work to maintain, and NF-ToolBox, the installer the tools come through, is proprietary. NF Lab apps are sold on the App Store as one-time purchases.
Alongside the products, I take on custom software projects — CLI tools, automation pipelines, mobile apps, developer tooling. The studio is registered as an auto-entrepreneur in France, so the work comes with proper invoicing.

Your data stays on your machine. Local-first whenever possible. No tracking. No analytics. No hidden collection.

Performance Budgets
Tools get latency and memory budgets, and are profiled against them before release.

One job per tool, done completely, rather than a long list of half-finished features.

Open by Design
Source is public wherever the project allows it, decisions are documented, and contributions are welcome.

AI as Augmentation
AI should extend human ability — not replace it. Intelligence is a tool, not the driver.

Research
Start with the real use case. Understand workflows, constraints, and what actually matters — not just what could be built.
